The Backroad Not Taken is an eclectic travel book detailing a collection of places across the great state of Alabama that you won’t find unless you venture off the beaten path. Posters, postcards, stickers, and magnets accompany the travel guide as memorabilia from not-so-famous sights such as the World’s Only Coon Dog Cemetery, Birmingham’s Garage Cafe, and the Sipsey Wilderness.
Modernized, editorial-forward layouts strive to engage a new audience in the travel book market, and even the print media market in general. The Backroad Not Taken encourages readers, Alabamian or otherwise, to explore their surroundings and venture into the unknown to rediscover the magic in the little, the weird, and the antiquated.
